He estado editando un diario de viaje de un viaje a Italia que hice en octubre de 2023. Por distintos motivos lo he ido postergando, pero ahora estoy decidida a terminarlo. Me encantaría publicarlo, ya sea como un fanzine digital o analógico. Uno de mis principales bloqueos a la hora de terminar un proyecto es el uso del color. Es algo que tiendo a sobrepensar y, en lugar de enfrentar ese desafío, cuando se trata de proyectos personales muchas veces termino abandonando.
I’ve been editing a travel journal from a trip to Italy I took back in October 2023. For different reasons, I’ve kept putting it off—but now I’m finally determined to finish it. I’d love to eventually publish it, either as a digital or analog zine. One of the main things that always blocks me from completing a project is working with color. It’s something I tend to overthink, and instead of facing that challenge, I often end up abandoning the whole thing. This time, I really want to push through.
Cada vez que viajo, me siento automáticamente inspirada por todo lo nuevo que me rodea. Muchas veces intento tener esa misma mirada en mi propia ciudad —que, de hecho, es súper atractiva y está llena de vida—, pero me cuesta ver Barcelona con ojos de turista después de vivir acá ya seis años (salvo por un tiempito que viví en Suecia… pero de eso hablaré en otro post). Creo que elijo dibujar o hacer un diario ilustrado porque para mi comunica las experiencias de una forma mucho más universal.
Every time I travel, I feel instantly inspired by the new things around me. I often try to recreate that feeling in my own city—which is, in itself, incredibly beautiful and full of life—but it’s not always easy to see Barcelona with tourist eyes after living here for six years (except for a brief period when I lived in Sweden, but I’ll share more about that in another post). I’ve come to realize that an illustrated journal can express experiences in a much more universal way, beyond words and language.
